The CCU Constitution
Democracy From the Bottom Up

THE STORY

The constitution of our proudly democratic union association reflects the voice of every member, ensuring collective empowerment and equality. Built on transparency, fairness, and accountability, it safeguards members’ rights and amplifies their demands. Together, we champion solidarity, protect labour rights, and promote social justice, fostering a stronger, united working-class movement throughout Canada.

The Confederation of Canadian Unions is committed to fostering a harassment-free workplace where everyone is treated with respect and dignity.

The Canadian Human Rights Act protects the above list from harassment based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, physical and mental disability, ancestry, gender identity or expression or criminal conviction not related to employment. This is not an exhaustive list, and it may be added to from time to time.

Harassment at CCU is not tolerated. Employees who are found to have harassed another individual may be subject to disciplinary action. This includes any employee who: interferes with the resolution of a harassment complaint; retaliates against an individual for filing a harassment complaint; or files an unfounded harassment complaint intended to cause harm.
