We’re a week out to the next Labour School and Executive Board. We hope everyone is doing well! At this time the Table Officers would like to provide some updates. If you would like to add any items to the Executive Board agenda, please contact CCU Recorder Robert Dvorski by Tuesday, February 24, 2026, or raise them as an amendment at the meeting.

Elaine Pauls

Elaine Pauls is an organizer and labour relations professional in Calgary, Alberta. Her experience in the labour movement includes labour relations, rank and file organizing, and union education. She remains active in her own union sitting on committees and acting as a shop steward. When she is not doing union business, you can find her in her garden or complaining to her cats about winter (depending on time of year).

Kim Siever

Kim Siever is a labour journalist with The Alberta Worker, an independent, startup media outlet that focuses on labour and politics. He also uses his platform to advocate for the working class. Kim will be speaking on the erosion of labour power and the importance of solidarity across the working class.

Affiliate Reports

Affiliate reports received by the Recorder on or before Tuesday, February 24, 2026, will be circulated to all attendees in advance of the meeting. Reports submitted after this date should be brought to the meeting for distribution. Late reports will be circulated by email following the meeting.

Call for members for Constitution Committee and Training and Education Committee

Thank you to all affiliates who have already identified a representative to serve on these committees.

As a reminder, information was circulated in January regarding the formation of the Constitution Committee and the Training & Education Committee. Each affiliate is asked to appoint one member from their organization to participate in these important committees.

If you have any questions or would like to submit your representative, please contact the Recorder, Robert Dvorski, at recorder@ccu-csc.ca.

Election of Member at Large

Election for Member at Large will occur during Executive Board. Acceptance by the candidates may be in-person or by written consent submitted to the Chair at the time of nominations.

Officer Contact during weekend activities

Emails sent to tableofficers@ccu-csc.ca will be received by all Table Officers.

Survey

A survey will be conducted at the end of the weekend. Everyone is requested to participate. Further information to be shared at the Executive Board Meeting.
