On May 7 to 9, CCU Vice President Frank Robertson and I were fortunate to attend the 2016 LabourStart Global Solidarity Conference, held at Ryerson University in Toronto Ontario.
LabourStart is the global labour movement’s news and campagining service, and the conference was attended by labour activists from around the globe. Workshops were held on issues such as organizing migrant farm workers in Canada, the labour and human rights of migrants and refugees in Europe, the upcoming World Social Fourm in Montreal, workers’ rights abuses in the shipbreaking industry in Bangledesh, online and offline solidarity campagins, and much more.
