The 2013 CCU Convention is taking place in Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 28 to October 1.
The event will include an educational and participatory Labour School on the issue of the new “Together Fairness Works” campaign being organized by unions throughout Canada.
In this “Era of Inequality,” the issues of social and economic fairness and workers’ rights have taken on a new relevance in Canada’s political landscape, aided by new movements such as Occupy Wall Street.
Our Keynote Speaker will be former labour union researcher and NDP Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour, Robert Chisholm, who will speak about how workers and unions are fighting back against austerity and the corporate agenda.
The CCU Executive Board Meeting is taking place on Tuesday, October 1.
