The Confederation of Canadian Unions has always been an organization based on the social unionism model, one that is democratic, participatory and engaged in social and political issues.
The includes lobbying elected officials to promote policies that protect workers’ rights, equality, democracy and the environment, providing donations to charitable organizations that make a big difference in communities throughout Canada, and managing programs like the John St-Amand / Madeleine Parent bursaries, which provides money for the children of CCU members each year to attend university.
The CCU looks forward to hearing back from these politicians, not-for-profit organizations and students, as a way of increasing dialogue between our organization and others fighting for a more equitable Canada and a better world.
