CCU President John Hanrahan joined members of The Nova Scotia Union of Public and Private employees in the Halifax Pride Parade on July 23, 2016. The Parade was attended by approximately 100,000 people. “The Confederation of Canadian Unions thanks our affiliate NSUPE for giving the CCU the opportunity to march alongside NSUPE members in order to demonstrate our support and solidarity for this fantastic event,” said Hanrahan.
The CCU supports the human rights of the LGBT community in Canada and throughout the world. Diversity and the collective and individual autonomy of all people must be celebrated in an environment free of prejudice and discrimination.
