The Confederation of Canadian Unions supports the brave struggle of teachers in British Columbia. They are on strike for smaller class sizes, better support for special needs students, and a fairer education system for all our children.
They have had their Right to Freedom of Association violated by the BC government, but thankfully won the fight in the Supreme Court of Canada. Now they must win the fight on the picket line and at the bargaining table. For too long, public servants and the vulnerable members of society they support have been held hostage by regressive government tax policies designed to benefit only the wealthy.
The Confederation of Canadian Union pledges solidarity to the teachers of BC and to all public servants who seek to ensure a fairer and more inclusive Canada.
