The Stephen Harper Conservatives are at it again. The Conservatives have introduced a bill in the House of Commons that will limit workers rights by making it harder for them to join unions.
Bill C-525 will require a vote in which a union will need a higher percentage of support to get certified than a political party needs to form a majority government in Canada, and even a higher percentage of support than Stephen Harper himself received in his Calgary riding in the last federal election. It is obvious that Bill C-525 is meant to stifle union organizing in Canada and promote low pay, poor benefits and non-union workplaces.
Bill C-525 is the latest of several unfair anti-union bills brought forward by the Harper government and can only be described as an attack on the fundamental rights of all Canadian workers.
